Black and White Stripes and Houndstooth

More from last month's trip to Florence, Italy that I've been meaning to upload for awhile. I've been dressing in lack of color lately but still love mixing patterns as you can see.

My first houndstooth experience that I can remember was when I was in middle school. There was this tweed houndstooth skirt I wore quite often that was actually a hand me down my from mom who had a big collection of houndstooth from coats to pants to heels. I loved the houndstooth collection Ferragamo  did in 2011 and have been wanting to incorporate houndstooth into my wardrobe for awhile.

I wish the houndstooth pattern was a bit bigger on these Guess pants as it's hard to see from these photos, but I love how fun they can be as skinny jeans/pants rather than the usual suit form.

... and my beloved Valentina bag from Botkier. I think I say this to all of my Valentina bags, but I think this pattern might just be my favorite out of all. I love every one of my Valentina bags but I just love how different the croc pattern on this bag is. It's more graphic and artsy than the usual croc embossed bags which I think adds a unique twist!

Brrr.. Pre New York Fashion Week

Hello! Hope everyone is having an amazing week so far! I got to New York for New York Fashion Week late Tuesday night from Aruba, and I knew it was going to be cold, but oh.em.gee it's sooooo cold! Thankfully I am all rested up from the amazing Aruba vacation and I'm so excited and thankful to be here. 

I wore this outfit to the IFB conference where I had the honor to speak at again (btw, it's such an amazing conference for bloggers especially if you're new to blogging!) and when I put this outfit together that morning all I could think about was, layer, layer, layer! I would've layered more but I didn't want to look too bulky so I wore denim on denim with the softest (everyone wanted to feel my legs) blue leather pants from Hudson.

New York Fashion Week - Snow White

The day after Nemo the snowstorm, I was in the mood to dress in white to match the snow laying on the side of the road. It was super sunny and beautiful but still very cold so my faux fur jacket from Bsable came in very handy and added some color to my white (and black) outfit. 

If I was walking a lot, I would've worn my ankle boots or tall boots that are more appropriate for the weather and snow, but Hudson Jeans was kind enough to provide a car (I cannot thank you guys enough!!) so to complete my outfit, I wore my Saint Laurent ankle cuff heels that I got from my last trip to Bal Harbour.

New York Fashion Week - After Nanette Lepore

I think I got the most use out of these Saint Laurent heels in New York despite the fact that they weren't the comfiest heels to begin with although I've broken in them. The funny thing is though, I wasn't sure how often I'd where these when I first purchased them. I intended to get the sandals when I went into the Saint Laurent store in but ended up purchasing these pumps instead since I don't own any simple black pumps. 

I wore this outfit to the Nanette Lepore show which had all kinds of amazing holographic amazingness (especially shoes!) 

Afterwards, I did a quick change and went to my Karen Millen even in Soho. Btw, Thank you to EVERYONE who came out and make sure to enter their giveaway! xo

DVF Loves Roxy

Couple of months ago, I had the pleasure of going behind the scenes of the DVF Loves Roxy collaboration photo shoot. The shoot took place in Malibu with two beautiful Roxy surfers Monyca Bryne-Wickey and Kelia Moniz as models. DVF's bold and fun prints on Roxy's amazing swimwear cuts are so perfect for each other and I have to say, it's really hard to pick a favorite from the entire line. All swimwear pieces from the line are those where you know once you put it on, you're bound to have a great time.

DIY Baroque Tights

It has been very long since my last DIY Tights... now I remember why... bleeding fingers hahaha
But anyway, so this is what I have been doing the past week, my apartment looks like a DIY factory (yes, I made more diy'sssssss and I'm really short of calling them Die's haha) The tights took me a painstaking 16 hours to make mainly because I really wanted to make sure the tights would survive the laundry (like a 100 times) and it took me a while before I figured out the best way to work with the Baroque and Brocade trend on the tights and on other items (Placement, Prints and patterns) but I figured it out and the Tutorials are on the way!! I really hope you like them, it would be the best motivation ever to make more and don't worry, the tutorials offer serious alternatives to 16 hours of work ;)
